Print & Packaging Legislative Summit

June 19-20, 2018 Washington, D.C.

NAPIM participated in this year's "Print & Packaging Legislative Summit" this past June 19-20th in Washington, D.C. NAPIM is working jointly with other associations in our industry including AICC, APT, FIBRE BOX ASSOCIATION, Idealliance, Printing Industries of America, SGIA and a number of other companies and associations for the benefit of our members.

This was an opportunity for our industry to address our country's legislators as one industry with one voice. This government affairs event brought together printers, packagers, converters, suppliers, and allied interest for a powerful program of public policy and political education.

Appointments were made with congressmen and senators for various members of our group to discuss issues important to our industry. This year, we had a robust agenda to focus on key policy issues including environmental regulations, recycling, postal reform, paper and steel/aluminum tariffs, health insurance and workforce development.

The primary goal and purpose for NAPIM to participate in this event is to support the printing, packaging and printing ink industry. These meetings are a chance for NAPIM to actually speak face to face with people in our government and explain our business. This in turn helps them understand how important our industry is in terms of communication, jobs, promotion, marketing and many other areas in the U.S. and the world. The end result is better decisions by our government relating to our industry.

NAPIM Trademark Registry

Trademarks Registry - The NAPIM Member's resources website at
https://NAPIMTech.org now provides a searchable trademark listing page. Company trademark lists can also be downloaded from this page.

The trademark registry is a publicly available resource which lists trademarks from both NAPIM members and non-members - from both ink manufacturers and suppliers to the ink manufacturing industries.  NAPIM will list all legitimate trademarks including those currently registered with the U.S. Patents and Trademarks Office (USPTO). NAPIM is working with Ink World magazine to publish these trademarks on an annual basis.

    2018 Summer Course

The NAPIM 2018 NPIRI Summer Course held at "The Sonoco Institute" at Clemson University in Clemson, South Carolina was a very successful event.  The event happened July 15th-20th.  This is the only training course that covers in detail, the formulation, testing and application of printing inks linked to raw material characteristics.

This was our second year at Clemson and we are very pleased with the college and staff that supports NAPIM/NPIRI.  The facilities are excellent and well maintained.
